The sound of silence

Quick doodle I’ve done about Russell Brand condemning the minute of silence in memory of the Islamic State sanctioned murder of British tourists in Tunisia..

I did another version a little later:

Not waving

The body of a drowned migrant washes up on a tourist beach

Hundreds of migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean already (opens in new window). This is a cartoon about this tragedy and the phrase ‘beach-body ready’ that prevails, having been the tagline of a controversial and eventually banned advert.

Things that can be shy

things that can be shy, tory voters, knife wielding maniacs and coconutsThe 2015 general election in the United Kingdom saw a win for the conservatives, thanks to a pile of ‘shy Tory’ votes. I wondered who else might be ‘shy’ about their behaviour – like murderers and so forth…

#hourlycomicday

I came upon this by accident, the idea is you draw a comic for every hour you are awake. I wasn’t sure about the cross-Atlantic timing but I liked the notion and drawings I saw on Twitter, so I thought I’d contribute with whatever came to mind, here are a few (of my non-sequitur) posts:

Saudi Arabia and the West side by side against #ISIS

When it comes to ISIS, Saudi Arabia and the West are side by side.

When it comes to ISIS, Saudi Arabia and the West are side by side.

From what I can tell it goes like this: The majority of terrorists in the 9/11 attacks were Saudi Arabian, Osama Bin Laden of course was from a wealthy Saudi family with ties to the ruling Royalty and it is alleged that there was some assistance from some elements within the Saudi government in 9/11 – see 28pages.org for more on this.

Because of this terrorist attack, Iraq was invaded, leading to the formation of ISIS. Saudi individuals have been responsible for funding ISIS. But Saudi Arabia is officially allied with ‘The West’ against them, in spite of spending billions and billions in promoting its hard line Wahhabist interpretation of Islam which is said to be integral in the spread of extremism.

Everything clear? Good.

This analysis of the punishments meted out by ISIS and Saudi Arabia for ‘crimes’ such as blasphemy and homosexuality is telling.
