Bird brain

A man stares at his phone from which a notification sound comes while all around him birds are seen tweeting
Mustn’t miss those important tweets

The idea for this cartoon came to me as I was walking through a park this morning.

I stopped to listen to and watch a blackbird sing.

I had my phone and headphones on me but was purposefully not using either, instead my attention was given to the world around me which rang with the sonorous trill of birds.

Our minds are easily distracted and aroused, and this is a lucrative fact, exploited by apps and media constantly. It’s good to ignore the shove and push notifications and listen to the birds from time to time. Here’s wishing Good Mental Health to you this #mentalhealthawarenessweek, and beyond.

Rose, thou art sick

sickrose

A suggested new logo for the UK’s Labour Party, which is now undergoing a statutory investigation by the EHRC into its institutional racism and discrimination against Jews, including its Jewish members and staff. The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:
Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy.

Trumpty Dumbty

He keeps giving, only in the sense he keeps reaching new levels of dumb arrogance. The accusation that he is, through his Trump Tower Moscow, a compromised asset of Russia seems less and less unlikely with every new revelation.

He recently revealed the stupid design for his stupid border wall:

So I thought I would quickly add my own comment on it, here, this simple detail:

Rattled

Rattled

Updated this image, originally (see below) I thought robbing him of his hair would render Trump more baby-like, remove his pomposity and reveal the underlying fragility of a vain old man but you (obviously) lose the iconic recognition. So I’ve … Continue reading

‘There, I’ve taken it off, better?’

In Cannes, France, a woman was forced to disrobe on the beach as part of the temporary ‘burkini ban’ preventing ostentatious religious dress. France has been victim of a terrible deluge of Islamic terrorist attacks, but even so, to become more like the aggressor – introducing morality police dictating what woman should wear – is not to win against them.
