In Cannes, France, a woman was forced to disrobe on the beach as part of the temporary ‘burkini ban’ preventing ostentatious religious dress. France has been victim of a terrible deluge of Islamic terrorist attacks, but even so, to become more like the aggressor – introducing morality police dictating what woman should wear – is not to win against them.
In the middle of nowhere currently and have little technology to hand, but I’ve cobbled together this sketch as a reaction to the murder of cartoonists in Paris. Murders in retaliation for perceived offence against a character the murderers believe to be a prophet.
My thoughts with the murdered. May they rest in peace. May their light not be extinguished by intimidation.
